All library books are due on Monday, June 9. You can see what your student has
checked out anytime by logging into their Clever account. In the Library Resources
section, select Follett Destiny Discover. You will be able to see what your student has
under the My Stuff dropdown menu. Please check under both Checkouts and Fines;
books that have been out for months are automatically marked lost by the system.
Returning the book will eliminate the fine! If a book is truly lost or is damaged beyond
normal wear-and-tear, DCPS expects families to provide a new or gently used
replacement copy. Please email Ms. Leese with questions at
rachel.leese@k12.dc.gov.

If you have time to give and want a nice, mostly-quiet volunteer experience, Lafayette
Library might be right for you! We’re currently inventorying the collection. Attention to
detail is necessary. Inventorying involves a lot of sitting and standing. No experience required! If interested, please look at the signup document for more information and
available slots. Thank you for your support!
Finally, thank you again to the volunteers who made the book fair such a success! We
raised nearly $7,000 for Lafayette Library and donated lots of books to Miner
Elementary. Thank you to the dream team that is the Book Fair Committee and the
HSA Co-treasurers: Kathy Hsu, Shannon Wulf Tregar, Karmia Lewis, Kate Barnes,
Liliane Antuanes, Mark Schofield and Karrenthya Simmons!
