Thank you to everyone who has signed up to contribute a gift basket to the annual holiday gift drive for Takoma Elementary. For years, the Lafayette community has supported our neighbors across Georgia Avenue during the holiday season, helping to provide gifts for the 100 or so Takoma families who need gift-giving support. There is still time to sign up and provide a gift basket (or gift bag) for a family this year and there is a collection point in the Lafayette neighborhood.
If you would like to donate a gift basket/bag, you can sign up HERE. Each family has a description and number please securely label your gift basket with the number (tape on a piece of paper not a post-it).
The baskets can be dropped off on the porch at 3931 Military Road NW. Thank you to Jagruit Bhakta, who has generously offered to collect the baskets.
The bakets can be dropped off now until Friday, 12/13 at noon.
Please remember to label your basket with the identifying family number.
