Heather Davenport is a Vice President at Compass. She is a Realtor who works with buyers and sellers in DC as well as close-in MD and VA. She’s been in real estate for 20 years and is coming up on her 5th anniversary with Compass.
What is your connection to Lafayette Elementary School and/or the HSA?
I have three kids who all went to Lafayette. We started back in 2014 before the building was renovated and now my kids are in high school and middle school. I’m proud to be in my 10th year of supporting the school!
How does your business or organization engage with/support the Lafayette community?
I have many clients, past and current, whose kids attend Lafayette. It’s a joy to see familiar faces around the neighborhood and hear how their children are thriving in the houses I helped them find. Over the years, I’ve volunteered at numerous Lafayette events, both in and out of the classroom, so I get to stay connected to my clients, many of whom end up being friends.
What is your favorite Lafayette tradition?
I absolutely love the Halloween parade at Lafayette. Seeing the kids walking around the track all dressed up is so fun—and there are some really creative costumes! Plus, it’s a nice way for the parent community to meet up and connect.
What is your favorite thing to do in the neighborhood?
Most days you will find me walking the streets of Chevy Chase, DC with my dog, Doolin. It’s my favorite way to get outside, see the neighborhood, and I often run into people I know. If I don’t hear you say hello at first, it’s just because I’m listening to an audiobook!
