Lafayette Gives Back (the HSA committee for community service projects) is gearing up and we could use your help! For those not familiar with the group, Lafayette Gives Back is a group of community service-oriented parent volunteers who provide needed items to families at both Lafayette and Takoma Elementary, a Title I school only a few miles away, as well as others within the DC community. Please click on the links below to find out more about the fall initiatives. If you want to get more involved or find out more about what we do, please email lafayettegivesback@gmail.com.
LGB’s first initiative is the Annual Coat Drive, to meet needs at our school and our sister school, Takoma Elementary. Starting Tuesday 10/15, there will be a collection drop-off box at the front of school for gently used (or new) items: jackets, hoodies, sweatshirts, winter hats, gloves, scarves, warm socks. We thank you for making sure that items are in dignity condition with no stains or rips.
Please click below to see how you can help organize the donations and deliveries! This would be checking the donation bin and taking the donations to the collection point in the neighborhood. Click here if you can help.
LGB only succeeds through the generosity of Lafayette families so thank you in advance, we are looking forward to another great year of giving. Stop by the Lafayette Gives Back table at the Fall Festival and find out more about our initiatives and how to get involved!
